New hotels around Dehradun in 2026: Welcomhotel Madhuban open, Selaqui and Mussoorie signed

What happened

Welcomhotel Madhuban Dehradun opened. ITC Hotels announced in January 2026 that the 73-key Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels, Madhuban Dehradun, had opened under a management contract. ITC Hotels managing director Anil Chadha said Dehradun is both a gateway to Uttarakhand and a growing destination for business and leisure travellers. The hotel has banqueting and meeting space.

A second Welcomhotel, in Selaqui. ITC Hotels announced on 13 July 2026 that it had signed Welcomhotel Dehradun Selaqui, a 117-key hotel owned by Orions Hospitality. The release listed an all-day dining restaurant, a rooftop specialty restaurant, a lounge bar, more than 20,000 sq ft of indoor banqueting space and about 25,000 sq ft of lawns. It did not give an opening date. It is ITC's second Welcomhotel in Dehradun.

Storii in Mussoorie. PropNewsTime reported on 20 September 2026 that ITC Hotels had signed a 65-key Storii by ITC Hotels in Mussoorie, near Kempty Falls, with views of the Shivalik ranges, a restaurant, a bar and wellness facilities.

Taj group's Gateway. IHCL, the Taj group, announced in January 2025 that it had signed a 100-key hotel in Dehradun under its Gateway brand, close to the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway, with a pool, gym and restaurants. IHCL said the signing took it to 17 hotels in Uttarakhand, 7 of them under development.

Smaller chains too. Hotelier India reported that Country Inn Hotels had opened three properties in Uttarakhand, one in Dehradun and two in Rishikesh, with one more planned.

What it means for property in Dehradun

This section is our view.

Selaqui is becoming more than a factory belt. A 117-room hotel with large banquet lawns is aimed at weddings and corporate events as well as the industrial area's visitors. That tends to bring demand for staff housing, small shops and service businesses nearby. Our post on Selaqui's water supply and Sahaspur roads covers the infrastructure side.

The expressway is drawing hotel money. The Gateway signing was tied to the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway. More weekend visitors from Delhi help short-stay and homestay owners too, but also bring more competition.

Hotel land needs commercial zoning. Anyone planning a hotel on their own land should note that the Unified Zoning Regulation now ties hotel maps to the land use in the master plan, not road width.
