What Rajpur Road is like
Rajpur Road runs from the Clock Tower in the city centre north through Jakhan to Rajpur village at the foot of the hills, where the old road to Mussoorie begins. The main road is lined with hotels, restaurants, cafés, showrooms, banks and offices, including Pacific Mall. Behind the frontage are residential colonies of independent houses, older bungalows and newer apartments.
Who it suits
Families who want schools, hospitals, markets and restaurants close by and a recognisable address. Businesses that want a central location with footfall. Buyers looking for a home they can easily resell. It is not the place for a quiet, cheap plot.
Prices and costs
Rajpur Road is in Dehradun's top price band, and frontage on the main road costs the most. Circle rates were revised in October 2025: for land between the Clock Tower and the RTO office, ₹68,000 per square metre within 50 metres of the road and ₹55,000 up to 350 metres away. Stamp duty and registration fees are worked out on the higher of the price and the circle-rate value; see registration costs in Dehradun.
What to check
Traffic at peak hours on the main road is heavy, so visit at the time you would travel. For a shop or office, check that the approved map allows commercial use; MDDA has been sending notices to businesses in buildings passed as homes. For a house, check the khasra, the mutation and the approved map; see papers to check before buying.
Nearby: Jakhan, Kishanpur and Malsi.
