What Sahastradhara Road is like
Sahastradhara Road runs east from the city towards the Sahastradhara springs. It is home to the IT Park and has more apartment projects than most parts of Dehradun, from smaller blocks to gated societies with clubhouses. The road is busier than it used to be, and new colonies keep spreading off it.
Who it suits
Working professionals, especially at the IT Park, and families who prefer a gated society with lifts, security and power backup to an independent house. It is also popular with buyers moving from Delhi who are used to apartment living.
What to check
Check the project's RERA registration and the builder's completion record; see buying in a new project. Ask about water supply and drainage: parts of the IT Park area have flooded in heavy rain, and the administration is planning drainage works; see IT Park waterlogging. Some areas off this road were brought into the city later and will start paying house tax from 2028; see 40 wards and house tax.
