Harsil Village Resort is a family-run stay in a working apple orchard beside the Bhagirathi in Harsil, near PNB Bank, about 25 km below Gangotri at 2,620 m. There are two kinds of room. The Premium Cottage (₹7,500 a night, up to 3 guests) is a standalone timber cottage in the orchard with a private sit-out, river and valley views, AC, Wi-Fi, room service and hot and cold water. The Heritage Room (₹4,500 a night, up to 2 guests) has deodar-wood interiors in the main house and mountain views. Both rates include breakfast and parking, and an early breakfast can be packed for Gangotri departures. Extra beds are available. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to order, with Garhwali, vegetarian and Jain food on notice. There are room heaters, hot water all day, 24×7 power backup, housekeeping, first aid and free off-highway parking. Nearby: Bagori village 1 km, Dharali 2 km, Mukhba 3 km, Sattal, Gangotri Dham 25 km (about an hour), Gartang Gali 40 km (permit needed) and Uttarkashi 73 km. Dehradun and Jolly Grant airport are about 220 km away. Mobile data is Jio and BSNL only, and cards are not always accepted, so carry some cash. Two nights is the sensible minimum.
